Friendly officers, helpful to the community, fast response time.
Thank You
I have good experiences with Clark County in the past. Last night was not one of them. I realize that we all are having trouble getting good help so I will not hold this against them.
Here is the experience I had. I had gone to my grandson son's birthday party yesterday and had put my headlights on manual because of the snow and visability. Coming home when my instrument panel dimmed I turned my headlights back to auto. When it started to get dark i realized the headlights were not on.while trying to figure out what I had done wrong I had attracted a Clark county officer. Well he road my tail.pulled up like he was going to pass several times. I pulled in the right lane when he was on my tail and he backed off a little. As soon as I pulled back to the right lane he was back on my tail. I would speed up and slow down. Still continued to harass me. This went on for just about thirty miles. When I pulled off of 29 to go home, the vehicle stayed right on my tail with bright lights yet. When I turned the couner I looked back and this is the first time I could tell it was a police car. Well he put the lights on. I pulled over and he came up and said the reason he pulled me over was because he could see I had been having trouble with my lights. ( well that was over twenty miles before this) I asked how he could consider it safe to follow so close. He said he had to read my plate. I just drove off after he gave me my license back. I looked when I got home there were still just six digits on my plate. Not sure why it took him so long to read the plate. If I was unsafe to myself or others why would the officer let me drive so far without stopping the danger. If I was not endangering anyone why would he Harass my for that far. Like I said I understand good help is hard to find but he was not the only officer on 29 at that time. So lets just rely on the local and State if we can't find competent help. These people are why some people hate cops. I don't, l have friends that are and have been police officers. My opinion will not change because of this. I really think this officer made a nothing deal into a potentially dangerous situation. In stead of paying attention to the road I was paying attention to a possible threat to myself and wife. Again I had no idea that the person harassing me was an officer.
